At the same time, the enterprise must maintain some consistency to function efficiently. At times, different parts of the organization will have different views on what is the best way to function. What is the balance that is needed between Agility and Architecture?
This course examines Agility, Lean Methods, Design Thinking, Enterprise Architecture and other frameworks and methods to understand how the apparent conflicts can be resolved .

This course is not intended to prepare students for certification in any particular standard or product. It does not focus on teaching detailed skills and techniques. There are no specific prerequisites for this course. This not a software development or computer science course, although we will examine concepts from these areas.
We will examine several Agile and DevOps approaches, but no prior experience is required.
The TOGAF standard will be used as an example Enterprise Architecture framework. People familiar with the TOGAF standard will be able to understand what their role in terms of sharing information with other teams.
This course is course is about creating a more agile enterprise. Stakeholders in charge of Agile development, delivery and IT operations will learn how Enterprise Architecture can support and enable their work. Agility is not one single concept, but the collective behavior of several key functions within the enterprise. The course is a synthesis of the ideas and trends that are at play in the enterprise. In particular, these topics include:

- Product and Portfolio Management
- Agile Methods
- Lean Enterprise
Any of these approaches may refer to existing frameworks, standards, methodologies, best practices, methods and processes. This includes with no particular order; TOGAF, Scrum, Kanban, Disciplined Agile (DA), Lean, Lean for IT, IT4IT and more. Each method or approach has its role to play. Each method has its strengths and weaknesses. How can these seemingly incompatible methods and techniques be integrated and harmonized to maximize benefit to the enterprise?
This course enables decision makers, strategists, product owners, architects, developers, and operations managers to gain insights into how these concepts can be interwoven to create a more agile enterprise. Course participants will work on practical examples and case studies that demonstrate and apply key elements of each method and examines how the methods can be integrated.
